But the keyboard shortcuts still work.<\/p>\n<h2>Bold<\/h2>\n<p>Use <kbd>Ctrl<\/kbd> + <kbd>B<\/kbd> on selected text.<\/p>\n<h2>Italics<\/h2>\n<p>Use <kbd>Ctrl<\/kbd> + <kbd>I<\/kbd> on selected text.<\/p>\n<h2>Lists<\/h2>\n<p>Start with &#8220;1.&#8221; for ordered lists and &#8220;* &#8221; (space after &#8220;*&#8221;) for unordered lists.<\/p>\n<p>Or alternatively, use keyboard shortcut <kbd>Ctrl<\/kbd> + <kbd>Shift<\/kbd> + <kbd>7<\/kbd> and <kbd>Ctrl<\/kbd> + <kbd>Shift<\/kbd> + <kbd>8<\/kbd>, respectively (on a selection)<\/p>\n<h2>Links<\/h2>\n<p>In the <em>answer<\/em> editor the keyboard shortcut is <kbd>Ctrl<\/kbd> + <kbd>K<\/kbd>, but it does <em>not<\/em> work for comments. Instead, paste in the link and edit the link text (if needed).<\/p>\n<h2>Code formatting<\/h2>\n<p>Use the &#8220;&#91;code&#93;&#8221; tag:<\/p>\n<p><code>&#91;code&#93;Some text formatted as code&#91;\/code&#93;<\/code><\/p>\n<p>But note that it doesn&#8217;t work if copy-pasted directly from this web page (due to some embedded formatting). Remove that embedded formatting by copy-pasting it through a simple text editor (like <a href=\"https:\/\/pmortensen.eu\/world2\/2020\/03\/29\/using-geany\/\">Geany<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>An easier way is to use the keyboard shortcut <kbd>Ctrl<\/kbd> + <kbd>Shift<\/kbd> + <kbd>K<\/kbd> (works both on a selection and without).<\/p>\n<h2>Quoting (as in block quote)<\/h2>\n<p>Use the keyboard shortcut <kbd>Ctrl<\/kbd> + <kbd>Shift<\/kbd> + <kbd>F9<\/kbd> (on a selection).<\/p>\n<h2>Mathematics<\/h2>\n<p>Quora uses the standard <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/MathJax\">MathJax<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Use the &#8220;&#91;math&#93;&#8221; tag:<\/p>\n<p><code>&#91;math&#93;E=mc^2&#91;\/math&#93;<\/code><\/p>\n<p>But note that it doesn\u2019t work if copy-pasted directly from this web page (due to some embedded formatting).
